Kyo

next generation airborne wind energy

independence starts with reliable power

Imagine an energy system so powerful, it turns remote places into hubs of clean, independent electricity. Kyo [kiːoʊ] is this system. Built on the proven legacy of Airon, Kyo rises as the next-generation airborne wind energy solution—stronger, smarter, and more efficient than ever before. It’s the next step in a journey that began with a pioneering idea: to capture the strength of the skies and make it available to everyone, everywhere.

In a world where energy must be clean, affordable and always available, Kyo delivers. With twice the power and a Levelized Cost of Electricity below 10 cents per kilowatt-hour, it redefines what’s possible—especially for remote regions, island grids and industrial operations that can’t afford uncertainty.

Kyo is engineered for impact. Lightweight and compact, it travels easily in standard containers, needs no deep foundation, and blends seamlessly into the landscape. It’s ready for harsh environments and high energy demand. And once deployed, it does what heroes do best: it shows up when it matters, and keeps going when others fail.

Remote. Off-Grid. Hybrid.

Energy That Reaches Further

The SkySails Power Kyo onshore wind energy system provides clean electricity wherever it is required:

  • as a reliable island solution in remote areas lacking a stable grid connection
  • as an economic and independent solution for industry, agriculture, tourism, or telecommunication infrastructure
  • as a supplement to existing energy projects such as solar parks or wind farms (hybridization)

24/7 Onshore Wind Power that’s Available Anywhere

Kyo harnesses the high-altitude wind and achieves high yields at low-wind sites. The system is safely employable in hurricane and typhoon regions, as it is easily retrieved and stowed away before these natural disasters occur. Thanks to its simple transportation and installation requirements, Kyo can also be installed in places that are difficult to access.
