Venyo (PN-14) - Pioneer of airborne wind energy

Venyo [ˈvɛnjo] is the first of its kind to harness the power of high-altitude wind — one of the world’s last untapped energy resources.

Designed for use in remote regions where communities often rely on diesel, Venyo offers a clean, flexible alternative. It’s compact, quick to install, and requires no heavy infrastructure — making it ideal for strengthening hybrid systems and mini-grids.

With a target LCOE of under 25 cents per kilowatt hour, Venyo makes the energy transition not only possible, but practical and affordable.

But Venyo is more than just a technology. It stands for the freedom to move away from fossil fuels — and the power to take control of your own energy supply.

Venyo is our pioneering system that transforms high-altitude wind into real energy — and opens new paths toward a sustainable future.

Venyo’s (PN-14) energy yield – where mobility meets clean power

Depending on wind conditions, a Venyo (PN-14) system delivers up to 760 MWh of clean energy per year — enough to power approximately 200 to 400 households. Compact and containerized, Venyo is easy to transport and quick to install. Operating at altitudes of up to 750 meters, it taps into strong, steady high-altitude winds — making it ideal for remote, off-grid, or storm-prone regions.

With a target LCOE of less than 25 cents per kilowatt hour, Venyo provides a practical, scalable solution where conventional renewable technologies often reach their limits.

Clean energy from above – powered by high-altitude wind. Easy to install, efficient, and available off-grid.

Venyo (PN-14) delivers green electricity where conventional systems can’t — on islands, in remote regions, or for mobile infrastructure.

This container-based kite system operates at altitudes of up to 750 meters, capturing strong, steady high-altitude winds. It’s quick to install, fully mobile, and generates clean power reliably and efficiently — resource-conscious and built for independence.

1 Kite
The ram air kite is made of high-performance textiles with a reinforced ripstop weave. Air intakes and air brakes allow changing the aerodynamic profile during start, operation, and landing. Steering lines connect the kite’s canopy to the control pod below. A line system inside the canopy allows reefing it for storage.
2 Control Pod
The control pod contains the autopilot system that steers the power kite by manipulating the steering lines and air brakes. It is powered by a ram air turbine. Several installed sensors measure all relevant signals required for a safe and autonomous system operation.
3 Tether
The tether is the connection between the control pod and the winch inside the ground station. It is made of HMPE and specially developed for applications with a high demand for safety (e.g., cranes and lifts).
4 Launch & landing mast
A reliable and flexible launch and landing system is required to safely launch and land the power kite. The mast can be lowered to attach or unmount it completely.
5 Ground station
A standard container houses the ground station for easy transport and installation.
6 Drive train
The drive train consists of the winch, gearbox, and generator. It converts the pulling force and velocity of the tether into electrical energy.
7 Tripod with ring mount
A yaw system corrects the ground station alignment with the wind direction.

Venyo (PN-14) use case – clean energy, even off the map

On remote islands without grid infrastructure, energy is often expensive — and diesel is the default, despite its high emissions and logistical burden. Traditional renewable systems often struggle in these environments due to limited space, harsh weather, or complex setup requirements.

Venyo (PN-14) offers a smart, sustainable alternative: compact, storm-resilient, and containerized for quick deployment. As an ideal off-grid solution, it delivers clean, reliable energy around the clock — even in places where other technologies can’t go.

According to BlueWise Marine’s 2023 GIS analysis, around 4,000 suitable sites were identified in Germany where roughly 13,000 airborne wind energy systems could be installed—equivalent to about 19 GW of technically deployable capacity, more than 90 % of it on land unavailable to conventional wind turbines.
With our tower- and foundation-free kite generators, operating at up to 750 m altitude, we can harness this high-altitude wind resource directly and deliver wind power at locations where traditional systems cannot be deployed.
