SkySails and Wistron’s subsidiary AiSails deepen strategic partnership

The two parties will deepen their collaboration in kite-based airborne power technology and integrate artificial intelligence across multiple applications. Following the successful flights of Taiwan’s first AWE site in Lukang, the two companies are preparing the next stage of their collaboration. The goal: to bring scalable, sustainable power to the Asia-Pacific market.

SkySails Power and AiSails Power celebrate first flight in Taiwan

On July 1st, SkySails launched the first flight of its kite-based airborne wind energy system in Taiwan. The maiden flight marks the deployment of Asia’s first kite-based airborne wind energy system and a milestone for SkySails’ international expansion.

SkySails presents Kyo: First 450 kW airborne wind turbine can deliver clean power where other technologies fail

Kyo, the new generation of airborne wind technology, is compact, robust and reliably delivers green energy - even where traditional renewable technologies reach their limits. With the official start of sales, SkySails marks a key milestone on the way to the industrial deployment of the technology. The first systems are expected to be delivered in the second half of 2028.

From PN-14 to Venyo (PN-14): New Name, New Chapter  

The name of our pioneering PN-14 airborne wind energy system has officially changed to Venyo (PN-14). Here's why.

Revolutionary Airborne Wind Energy System in Operation in the Republic of Mauritius

A revolutionary new technology for green power supply has taken off on the island of Mauritius: A kite of 120 m² flies over the sugar cane fields of the island in the Indian Ocean to harness the wind in several hundred meters of altitude.

Research project SkyPower100 successfully completed

SkyPower100 is the world’s most comprehensive project to demonstrate an automated airborne wind energy system. Since 2019, an airborne wind energy system with kites of up to 120 m² has been in operation within the project in Klixbuell/Schleswig-Holstein. This makes Klixbuell the site with by far the longest operating experience of airborne wind energy systems worldwide.

The SkySails Group GmbH has sold the SkySails Marine Performance GmbH to a consortium from the shipping industry. The new company will continue business as of now under the new name of Albis Marine Performance GmbH.
